Urban loneliness is real and growing. Hundreds of Reddit posts daily show people feeling isolated, friends drifting apart, no one to truly connect with. Traditional social apps create superficial connections through endless swiping, but fail to address the core problem: people want real-life friendships and shared experiences. Solo plans stay solo because there's no easy way to find like-minded people nearby who are available right now.
We built Plunge, a social networking app that connects people for real-life activities and experiences. The platform uses Firebase real-time sync, geospatial matching, and interest profiling to turn solo plans into group activities with a single click. Users can find friends for everything, from coffee runs to concerts, ensuring nobody has to be alone for anything. The mission: build a world where urban loneliness doesn't exist.
